I have always loved traveling. Growing up I was lucky enough to be able to go on a variety of trips throughout my childhood. I guess you can say I have the travel bug because I want to continue this tradition with my husband and our future kids one day. My husband and I recently took a trip and traveled up the California Coast for our 2nd wedding anniversary, recreating a trip I had taken with my parents when I was too young to value the beauty of the nature around me. Knowing me I probably had my nose in a book the entire time. Now that I am older, I am able to experience the true beauty of my surroundings.
In this post, I am going to be focusing on the first stop of our trip, Pismo Beach. While we were there we explored the Monarch Butterfly Grove, wandered into an RV campground that had walking trails connected to that same butterfly grove. We were astounded by several cliff-side ocean views that would take your breath away, and had some phenomenal food at restaurants that we had never heard of before. Our time in Pismo Beach was the beginning of a very scenic and enjoyable trip.
When we first arrived at Pismo Beach we wanted to find a place to eat and we stumbled upon this gold mine, Shell Beach Brewhouse. The food was fantastic, and even though we only got pictures of our appetizer and dessert, the main dish was just as incredible.
We loved this restaurant so much that we have talked about taking a 3-hour drive just to eat here. Who knows maybe make a weekend out of it. If you are in the area, this restaurant should be on your list to eat at, you won’t be sorry.
Feel free to continue on our journey as we continue up the coast with Part Two of my California Coast Road Trip blog entry.
